Dr. Beals
Dr. Beals graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1978 and completed a General Surgery Residency at Beaumont Hospital in Detroit, MI. In pursuit of specialized training, he completed the Phoenix Plastic Surgery Residency in Phoenix, AZ, which included reconstructive and cosmetic techniques, followed by a Craniomaxillofacial Fellowship at the University of Toronto, Hospital for Sick Children. He has been in private practice since 1986 and has founded the Craniofacial Foundation of Arizona and the Barrow Craniofacial Center (previously Southwest Craniofacial Center) where he is currently the Director. He has also developed the Heads Up Baby® educational material.
Dr. Beals was certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 1986 and the American Board of Surgery in 1984. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Craniofacial Surgery (founding member), the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, the American Association of Plastic Surgery, and the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery.
In addition to his private practice he is involved in teaching, research and publication. He is an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at Arizona State University. He spent much of his childhood in Africa as the son of missionaries and has participated in overseas medical missions in countries such as Bangladesh, Mexico, and Vietnam. Dr. Beals has consistently appeared in the Phoenix Top Docs magazine and among the Best Doctors in America®, and has received accolades for his service to the community.
In his personal time, Dr. Beals enjoys outdoor retreats, sporting events and activities, music, art, experimenting with new gadgets, and spending quality time with his wife, Martha, and three grown daughters.

Meet The Team
Jill Hailpern, Administrative Assistant
Jill has been with the Beals Team since 1998 and is an efficient and friendly Administrative Assistant, as well as, a Certified Medical Assistant. She feels privileged to be working with such an incredible doctor and staff, and enjoys showing compassion and care for all of the patients she contacts. When she's not at work she loves spending time with her husband and children-working out, running, reading, and watching her son play baseball.
Fabiola Garcia, Certified Medical Assistant
Fabiola Garcia joined the Beals team during the summer of 2006 and is a Certified Medical Assistant. She is proud to be a part of Dr. Beals' staff, and enjoys building personal relationships with the patients. Fabiola is originally from El Paso, Texas and can now understand the meaning of hot temperatures. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, as well as enjoying the art of dance and music.
Kasper, Craniofacial Surgery Coordinator
Kasper (yes, she just has one name) has been with the Beals Team since 1993 and is a Certified Medical Assistant and Licensed Aesthetician. In her position as the Craniofacial Patient Coordinator, she most enjoys being able to work closely with patients and support them as they make decisions and plan. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband, two grown boys, and family and friends. She also enjoys working out, hiking, and exciting off-road drives with good company.
Joan Llewellyn, RN, Medical Specialist
Joan Llewellyn joined the Beals team at the beginning of 2007 and is a Registered Nurse. Joan fills many shoes around the office; she performs the cosmetic surgery scheduling, manages the Wellness Center, and administers botox, fillers, and sclerotherapy. She enjoys working diligently to build relationships in order to better serve and educate the patients. When Joan is not at work, she enjoys hiking, cycling, doing yoga, and being with her family.
Kelly Heller, Licensed Aesthetician
Kelly has been a Licensed Aesthetician with the Beals Team since 2000. At work, her favorite part of the job is the patient interaction, both helping them in skin care and befriending them. Outside of work, she spends a lot of timing chasing around her toddler and loves to spend time with friends and family. As a new mom, she mostly enjoys sleeping whenever she can.
Kerry Page, Licensed Aesthetician
Kerry joined the Beals Team in 2004, working as a Licensed Aesthetician. She loves working with patients to develop relationships, earn trust, and find the perfect solution for their desired results. She enjoys working with an incredibly talented surgeon and professional and caring staff. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends-hiking, biking, doing yoga, reading, and knitting.
Sarah Klusman, Licensed Aesthetician
Sarah is a Licensed Aesthetician and joined the Beals team at the end of 2006. Her favorite part of her job is investing in her patients to help them get the skin results they desire, as well as working with a superb staff. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends and is very involved in her local church.
Tara McNeill, Service Coordinator
Tara joined the Beals Team in spring of 2008, working as a Clinic Coordinator. She previously worked with Dr. Beals at the Barrow Craniofacial Center in Administration and followed him to his cosmetic office in Paradise Valley because of how much she admired his work. She enjoys working with such an excellent team and all the patients she comes in contact with. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and growing family, hiking, traveling, cooking and swimming.
